With painting soundscapes, dynamics, contrasts and his signature storytelling, Kristoffer takes us to the deepest, most eerie places of the mind. These are stories about giving up or carrying on, falling down or standing strong. About choices on the edge of life and death, about the ghosts who roam both realms.

BARRENS

BARRENS are a highly-regarded group from Gothenburg, Sweden, and feature two members of Scraps Of Tape, veterans of the scene who’ve been touring for over twenty years. BARRENS have developed their own idiosyncratic sound since their stunning debut album Penumbra (2020): as driven by synths as by guitars, Penumbra oscillates between the dark and the brighter side of post-rock, but leaning more towards the dark. The album conceptually circles around themes of change, metamorphosis and transformation, “especially movement into, through and out of shadows and back again”, as guitarist Johan G Winther explains. “Being both lost in darkness, yet finding comfort there. Seeking it. Afloat in blinding light, suspended in darkness” – the message etched on the album vinyl.

BARRENS were already touring together before they were even a band. In 2018, Markku Hildén joined Scraps of Tape, Johan and bassist Kenta’s other band, as a live drummer for two tours of Europe and a tour of China. “Finding an immediate chemistry between us both playing and hanging out, we quickly realised we had very similar ideas regarding music and creating art together. So the outlines for what BARRENS would become were sketched out back then in vans, trains, planes and over post-show beers at local bars”, comments Kenta Jansson. Once back home, the newly formed band started writing demos, drawing inspiration from new sources and venturing through both well known and unknown territories. In the summer of 2019, Penumbra was recorded in Uppsala and Gothenburg and produced by the band, and mixed and mastered by Cult of Luna’s Magnus Lindberg at Redmount Studios in Stockholm.

Since then, BARRENS have gone from strength to strength. In the intervening time the trio have supported the legendary Mogwai, God Is An Astronaut, signed with the famed Pelagic Records and opening ArcTanGent’s main stage for the 2023 edition.

PUNTJUDITH

“Ondergronds in een een grote torenflat waar Eefje de Visser en James Blake elkaar ontmoeten onder een discobol” puntjudith is een van de opkomende veelbelovende artiesten in de Nederlandse en Vlaamse muziekscene. Ze maakt expressieve, Nederlandstalige elektronische popmuziek. Haar muziek verweeft rauwe sounds, zware beats en pulserende bassen met persoonlijke en existentiële thema’s, waardoor ze de snaar weet te raken van een generatie die zoekt naar verbinding in een steeds meer gedigitaliseerde en individualistische wereld. 

Puntjudith tekende bij het Belgische label Fake Records en bracht haar debuutalbum Stad van Glas uit op 23 mei 2025. De liefde bracht puntjudith een paar jaar geleden naar Brussel. Haar nieuwe werk is dan ook bijna een liefdesverklaring aan deze stad, het kloppend hart van een continent dat niet meer kan kiezen tussen het verleden en de toekomst. Ze vindt er nieuwe vriendschappen, schoonheid en menselijkheid in alle facetten. Maar ze duikt er ook in het leven van haar opa, Max Kohnstamm. Hij was een van de briljante geesten die in de jaren ‘50 vorm gaf aan de Europese Unie en zo onnoemelijk veel mensen verenigde onder dezelfde vlag. Zijn gedachten over samenwerking en hoop maakten een blijvende indruk op haar. 

Haar muziek wordt live gespeeld samen met bassist/toetsenist Wannes Notenbaert (MEIS, Juliet), drummer Adriaan Stoop (Luna Maki, Igor) & trompetist/toetsenist Antonio Moreno Glazkov. (Nausiqa)

Met haar eerdere EP’s Snelweg en Lawines ontpopte puntjudith zich tot een multidisciplinaire duizendpoot. Haar tweede EP Lawines (2022) werd uitgebracht samen met een kortfilm die in première ging op het Nederlands Filmfestival en speelde tijdens ADE en Fashionclash, waarin haar muziek en visuele kunst samenkwamen om een meeslepende ervaring te creëren. In 2023/2024 werkte ze samen met Spinvis en toerde door Nederland met De Toegift, waarmee ze samen de single Alles Wacht uitbracht.

Anchoress announces Cockdust, their first full-length album: a unique blend of post-rock, drone and liturgical influences that drift between fragility and the heavy—featuring raw, magnetic vocals.
Blowing away the dust of the past, Cockdust uncovers the parallel history of female magic: as fragile, as furious, as timely. The lyrical “I” takes on different roles and characters, moving beyond the individual to talk about shared collective experiences. Cockdust’s central figure, Hairy Mary, is an ancient sex worker turned saint from the 4th century, symbolizing non-conformity and transformation. Through songs like Song of the City of Women (a hymn of resistance), Anxious Clown (a search for transcendence in late-stage capitalism) and Toys of Grace (critiquing male-centric love songs) the album explores themes like faith, identity and the disconnection that many feel in modern society.

Cockdust was recorded in 2023 by Adam Asnan mixed by Carlos Flores, with additional production by Martin J. Fiedler (Josh T Pearson, Anika, Crime and the City Solution) at Klangbild Studios Berlin. The album will be released on March 7th with the preceding single and music video Brave Men released in November 2024.

SUZAN KÖCHER'S SUPRAFON

Suzan Köcher’s Suprafon seamlessly blend Psychedelia, Dream Pop, Krautrock,Disco, 60s influences, Desert Americana, and evocative cinematic Soundtrack elements. Their hypnotic sound has earned them acclaim at festivals such as Traumzeit Festival, Reeperbahn Festival and Burg Herzberg Festival, culminating in a coveted performance slot at SXSW in Austin, Texas and the WDR Rockpalast. Their new album „In These Dying Times“ was released in October 2024 on Unique Records. “I started writing songs when I was 14 because I was afraid to talk about things and be rejected. Music was my way of saying what I think” – an experience that the German-Turkish musician Suzan Köcher shares with many, especially other women. With her debut album “Moon Bordeaux” (2017, Unique Records), which was celebrated by radio and press, she went on tour with her band, played festivals such as Maifeld Derby and Orange Blossom Special and began to make a name for herself in Germany. The music on the second album “Suprafon”, recorded in Austin, TX in 2019, became more experimental and developed towards dream pop and psychedelia. The current unrest and events in world history are clearly felt on the new album “In These Dying Times“. The record deals with the tragedy of the present, with powerlessness and the ever-growing cracks in our society. With the album, the band looks to the future and the past, but remains entirely focused on their own feelings.

Their sound is reminiscent of early krautrock pioneers like Can and Neu!, blended with the modern, cavernous echoes of bands like Swans and Godspeed You! Black Emperor. With a focus on dynamics and tension, Den Der Hale craft songs that shift between meditative repetition and crushing crescendos.

Known for their captivating live performances, the band translates their studio precision into an electrifying stage presence, drawing audiences into a trance-like state through sheer sonic force.

Den Der Hale aims not so much at creating a specific sound, as much as melding together the various creative inspirations of each individual member. As such, the result is eclectic and experimental and, in many ways, more than the mere sum of its parts. Itinerant rhythms and atonal melodies are filtered through heavy effects, harsh layers of noise are contrasted by animate bass lines and propulsive percussions. Jawel, ook Nederland heeft gerenommeerde bluegrass-muzikanten: Robert-Jan Kanis (zang/gitaar); Arnold Lasseur (zang/mandoline/gitaar/viool/dobro); Aart Schroevers (zang/contrabas) en Bart van Strien (zang/banjo/mondharmonica/viool) toerden de afgelopen decennia niet enkel door Nederland, maar door heel Europa en Amerika en deelden de podia met diverse groten uit de bluegrass- en countrymuziek.

Zelfs de Washington Post schreef een uitermate positieve recensie naar aanleiding van hun optreden in Arlington, Virginia. In Ierland wonnen zij de ‘Crystal Bowl’ als meest populaire band tijdens het ‘Guinness International Bluegrass Festival’. In eigen land wonnen zij maar liefst acht keer de Gram Parsons-Award als ‘beste akoestische band’ en werden zij als ‘De echte helden van het ‘Blue Highways’-festival’ bestempeld in het AD nadat zij ex-lid van de bekende Amerikaanse band ‘The Byrds’ Chris Hillman begeleidden tijdens dit prestigieuze Americana-festival in TivoliVredenburg, Utrecht. Very often, fun just feels like fun. But sometimes, it can also be profound, life-affirming and political. That is what stepping into a Crème solaire record or live performance feels like: a massively joyful, colorful and chaotic mess, with activism built into it at every level. Like joining a mosh pit whilst simultaneously rethinking obfuscated systemic societal roles. 

Crème solaire is the combination of Rebecca Solari, a one-of-a-kind performer, poet of the absurd and singer, and Pascal Stoll, musician-extraordinaire, at home unleashing massive beats, harsh in-your-face sections, dreamy soundscapes and unstoppable choruses (think Kompromat meets Cocteau Twins meets Chicks on Speed meets Nina Hagen meets Rendez-Vous meets Schwefelgelb meets Björk meets 100Gecs meets X Ray Spex meets Meredith Monk). Together, they are led by a strong punk ethos, and have become one of Switzerland’s most singular bands thanks to their wild mix of musical genres (trap, glitch, punk, pop, you name it), multilingual poetry (the lyrics switch between five languages), playful humor and absurd visuals and collages. 

Formed in 2018, Crème solaire soon after released their debut album ‘Bleu c’est bien’ (2019). Muziek die dwars door je trommelvliezen trapt. De bandnaam HOOFS kan niet toepasselijker zijn. Snijdende gitaren, gruizige baslijnen, zang die je bij de strot grijpt en stampende drums die nog even benadrukken waar die naam vandaan komt.  

Deze band uit de Randstad heeft begin april 2023 hun eerste EP uitgebracht, toepasselijk getiteld “EP I”. Deze EP werd opgenomen in Studio Katzwijm met de hulp van producer/engineer Daan  Duurland (o.a. Tramhaus, Marathon) en Nadya van Osnabrugge (Tramhaus/Vulva). Volgens Never Mind the Hype is het “een puntgave noiserock escapade” en verkozen ze de EP tot 1 van de beste EPs van 2023.

Over hun live performance wordt door 3voor12 het volgende gezegd: “subtiliteit komt in het woordenboek van HOOFS niet voor”, en “Met acht kneiterharde songs die aanvoelen als een pak slaag is het een superstrak optreden”. HOOFS is intens, maar sleept je mee in hun wereld als een rauwe omhelzing. Als Never Mind the Hype talent hebben ze net een succesvolle Popronde afgerond, waarmee ze door het hele land hebben gespeeld. Ook is er een tweede EP op komst van deze post-punk/noise band, die in de eerste helft van 2024 verwacht wordt.

The International Hindustani Classical Psychedelic rock group stemming from Pakistan have quickly cemented their reputation as one of the most unique bands currently on the circuit. The band is spearheaded by Sameer Khan, and with the help of his companions, they create an eclectic mix of 60’s/70’s psychedelia whilst over and under, runs through Indian classical sounds and Sufi inspired lyrics that complete the psychic fuzz toned sound that is Karma Sheen. From a very young age Hindustani classical music has been a part of Sameer Khan’s education. In particularly the Shaam Chaurasi Style of that music. At the age of 16 Sameer underwent Informal training with Ustaad Shafqat Ali Khan and sat with him and his two sons as part of a backing band. Later on at Sameer began formal training from Ustaad Shafqat Ali Khan’s older brother Ustaad Latafat Ali Khan. This music from (now) Pakistan has been passed down through a lineage of 600 years. Ready to deliver their Raag and Roll to the rest of the world, enticing the masses into psychedelic trips, deep bass driven rhythmic beats with a force and demand that calls to the mountain tops. JESPER MUNK

There is almost nobody in the German indie scene who has never heard of him. But where should one start, how to categorize, and where to end? Usually, things end at the end, but Jesper Munk is far from finished—quite the opposite. At 31 years old, his search for his own sonic landscape has proven successful, as is clearly heard in both his concerts and on his records. A lot has happened in the last 12 years, and Jesper Munk’s story is one of many ups and downs—from a bluesy supernova to a hip but underrated crooner, from a teenage poster boy to an established and mature singer/songwriter.

Jesper Munk! In 2024, the German-Dane who lives in Berlin is making a comeback in all his facets. He has reconciled with parts of his early work, much to the delight of his blues fans, who he initially captivated as a tour support act for Eric Burdon, among others. This means that all those who have sorely missed classics like “Morning Coffee,” “Clean,” “Shakespeare And Heartbreak,” and “Courage For Love” at his concerts in recent years will finally be satisfied again. Overall, Jesper Munk can look back on just over 40,000 records sold, and with the streaming giant alone, he has amassed 36 million streams, with nearly 150,000 monthly listeners and close to 40,000 followers.

ROSEGARDEN FUNERAL PARTY

DAIISTAR is an Alt-Indie band formed in Austin, Texas in the spring of 2020. The band takes their inspiration from the neo-psychedelic era of the 80s and 90s (The Jesus and Mary Chain, Spacemen 3, Primal Scream) and pulls it into the future with modulating synthesizers, heavy guitars, bouncing bass lines, and spiraling hooks, creating a narcotic blend of noise and melody. DAIISTAR recorded their first studio album produced by Alex Maas of The Black Angels and engineered by James Petralli of White Denim in the summer of 2021. The band signed to UK based label Fuzz Club Records with their debut album GOOD TIME released on September 8th 2023. The album is available on vinyl including a Levitation Exclusive Edition pressing, as well as CD and digital. DAIISTAR has performed at SXSW, Levitation Austin, Levitation France, Austin Psych Fest, Barcelona Psych Fest, KEXP, KUTX and has toured with The Black Angels, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, and The Dandy Warhols. On May 10th 2024 DAIISTAR released a 7″ 45rpm Limited Pressing of their single “Clear” Backed by Spacemen 3 co-founder Peter Kember aka SONIC BOOM’s remix of the ‘Good Time’ album track “Velvet Reality” on the B-side.

PETITE LEAGUE

Living together in famed Syracuse, NY house venue Scarier Dome hosting shows for touring bands, producing live video sessions, starting a screen printing business while also learning the ins-and-outs of self-recording and releasing records was the foundational stepping stone upon which Petite League was created. 

Lorenzo Gillis Cook, songwriter and composer, along with drummer Henry Schoonmaker, came out of the gates swinging with their signature infectious lo-fi power pop releasing their two first records before graduating from college that same year. Petite League’s melodic summer-y brand of indie rock started the buzz right away with some immediate industry, streaming, and publication recognition which helped propel the band forward.

Petite League continued to shape itself into a staple of the New York City indie rock scene as the band moved to Queens in 2016 enlisting the help of other ex-Scarier Dome residents Adam Greenberg and Kevin McCallum as part of the live band. The DIY mindset of operating Scarier Dome is still the backbone of what Petite League runs on to this day as they continue to release music prolifically, cultivate their online presence, and tour the world.

PIETERNEL

Amsterdam based songstress Pieternel makes Americana music, mixing classic country music with modern pop and folk elements. With her soothing yet powerful voice she shares stories from underneath her skin and paints intimate portraits of others.     Her music parallels that of artists like Brandi Carlile, First Aid Kit and Chris Stapleton.  At a young age Pieternel took to the stage, music was her breakfast, lunch and dinner. Sitting in front of the record player she sang along with a wide variety of artists from The Beatles to Edith Piaf. At the age of 16 she won the public award of Concours de la Chanson.     She explored multiple music genres but when she picked up the guitar and started writing her own songs she found herself leaning more and more towards Americana music, finding her voice in the straightforward storytelling of country music. Powerful and vulnerable, like her idols Bonnie Raitt, Dolly Parton and Eva Cassidy.

She came to the scene with the EP All Night Cafe in 2018, followed by her debut full length album Roosevelt Island – a record she created and released independently on her own label and presented in a sold-out Bitterzoet. Before recording this album, she made frequent songwriting-trips to NYC and Nashville and fell in love with their vibrant music scene. No wonder she recorded the album in Nashville, Tennessee. The album was produced by Grammy award winning producer Femke Weidema and Gouden Kalf winning Helge Slikker. The album caught the attention of multiple international playlists and Dutch radio stations. Her latest album was released in the Fall of ’23.

CLOCKTOPUS

CLOCKTOPUS is a many tentacled sonic creature. Forged in the Thai jungle, formed out of musicians who have already earned their spurs in the Dutch music scene. The diversity of their individual styles, the sum of songwriting skills and the amount of lead vocalists makes the music not only bizarrely diverse, but also mercilessly adventurous. From freaked-out space rock to dark folky ballads and from orchestral hip-hop blues to straight-up pop songs. Somewhere in the Thai jungle, a group of musician friends built a makeshift studio out of bamboo with open sides and palm leaves on the roof. Recording took place in scorching heat, but also during hellish tropical storms. Almost all songs originated from jams in an atmosphere of untamable inspiration. These took place during the day in the studio, but also in the evening during live performances in local bars. The fact that many of the songs were forged in the fire of live performances means that when played on stage, they can easily grow into new entities that transcend the original.

MØAA

Coming off the back of her gothic shoegaze debut album “Euphoric Recall” released in 2021, MØAA unleashes her new album “Jaywalker” via WWNBB Records; a nocturnal dream pop record featuring pulsing 909 drum machines submerged under catchy hushed vocals and glistening, reverb laden guitars. Fuzzed out bass lines from the first album have been swapped out with fat chorus and throbbing synths built for melancholic dancing. As with “Euphoric Recall”, MØAA worked in the studio with collaborator Andrea Volpato (formerly of New Candys) who coproduced, mixed, and recorded “Jaywalker” at Fox Studio in Seattle, Washington. Since the inception of the project in 2021 by Seattle born artist Jancy Buffington, MØAA has headlined tours in the United States, Europe, and the UK, performed at the official SXSW 2022 showcase, Ypsigrock Festival in Sicily, MIL Festival in Lisbon, and shared the stage with artists like Yves Tumor at Artivive Festival in Modena and Film School on a US west coast tour. MØAA also has a full US “Jaywalker” tour slated for October and November 2023 following the album’s release and a European tour in February of 2024.

Upupayama

Upupayāma is the musical persona of Alessio Ferrari, an Italian multi-instrumentalist and songwriter who lives in a small mountain village above the city of Parma. Upupayāma’s music is rooted strongly in Eastern and Western folk traditions, an approach that Ferrari blends with his own modern sensibilities and style. In addition to playing guitar, bass, keyboards, and drums on the album, Ferrari himself also incorporates a number of other instruments into his sound, including sitar, erhu, transverse and wooden flutes, and a variety of percussion instruments. He is also responsible for all of the recording that went into the project. 

Informed by the wonders of nature that surround him high in the northern Apennine mountains, Ferrari’s songwriting possesses a mystical quality, one that reflects the fantastical and surreal, yet simple, elements of the natural world. His use of imagery is strong and is communicated vividly through his music. This is especially clear when he sings with his own invented language. True to the sense of magical realism his songs evoke, Ferrari is quick to point out that even the very concept of Upupayāma, which means mountain hoopoe, “is surreal because the hoopoe is not a mountain bird.” As he puts it, “I like the fact that a mountain hoopoe and an invented language can live in an imaginative world.” An imaginative world where you can see a reindeer discussing Träd Gräs och Stenar with a deaf cat while smoking clouds in a long pipe.

Feu de garde is not about devastation. Carefully tended by the bibis, the flames bring light, comfort, life. The embers transmit energy, and their warmth protects us against frostbite as a harsh winter finally comes to an end. Deep in the forest, near a river or beneath the 40 overpass, communal power unfolds in all of its vastness, then bursts into thousands of tiny sparks, into melodies as festive as they are insightful. Dizzying spells, mysteries and transformations make up the mesmerizing journey that is Feu de garde, which reaches out to those they have met along the way and to the road itself, however dangerous. The duo formed by Adèle Trottier-Rivard and Nicolas Basque explore emotional and physical territories, overcoming obstacles with intense, raw yet benevolent radicalism. A former member of the very first exclusively female scout group, les Guides, Adèle reconnects with the values that made her who she is: courage, perseverance, sisterhood, friendship. The years she spent in that community, discovering nature and developing intense relationships, became part of her identity and informed her writing, all the way to the creation of Feu de garde. The influence of Moondog, Stereolab, and, more than ever, Suicide can be heard in the direct, singular approach of the album, which also features group chants inspired by Girl Guide outings in the woods.

DOCILE BODIES

Tilburg-Amsterdam collective Docile Bodies is known for their belligerent but romantic brand of postpunk. Their combination of grand, canorous guitar sounds and ardently preached vocals easily sways between the more wavy and more punk oriented manners within the spectrum of their genre. Within their music, they perceptively concentrate on themes such as art, nature and family, while also contemplating notions of monotony and the value of hope.

So far, they have released an EP and a handful of singles. Monolith begin the last, released on US label Á La Carte. The band has performed at festivals such as Best Kept Secret, Here’s The Thing, Geleen Calling and Offroad.

The debut album by Docile Bodies is set to be released in the fall of 2024.

THE TELESCOPES

The Telescopes have been described by the British music press as ‘more a revolution of the psyche than a revolution of the sidewalk’; a thread consistent throughout a body of work spanning over 30 years. The Telescopes have constantly pushed at their own boundaries to unravel new pathways of existence, colouring outside the lines of all expectation to reach beyond the realm of natural vision.

Growing Eyes Becoming String is the sixteenth studio album from British noise-rock pioneers The Telescopes. Recorded between Berlin and Leeds back in 2013, it’s a lost Telescopes treasure that nearly never was, rescued from the ether and now finally set for release by Fuzz Club Records.
The origins of Growing Eyes Becoming String go back a decade when, in 2013, The Telescopes were invited to record an album at Brian Jonestown Massacre´s new studio in Berlin. With a line-up consisting of founding member Stephen Lawrie and London psychedelic unit One Unique Signal.
On reaching Berlin, the group teamed up with good friend and author/visual artist Will Carruthers (Spacemen 3, Dead Skeletons). Carruthers, also a skilled carpenter, built soundproofing boards and recruited Anton’s producer at the time, Fabien Leseure, and together they sourced equipment from all over the city and soon had a functioning studio up and running. Between Boxing Day and New Years Day, most of the music for the four tracks that would make up side one – ‘Vanishing Lines’, ‘(In The) Hidden Fields’, ‘Dead Head Lights’ and ‘We Carry Along’ – was recorded, with Lawrie planning on finishing up back in his own studio.

Orbit EP was released in 2022, marking the restart of the band after the tragic loss of its keyboard player Makis Tsamkosoglou, during a live show in 2019. A tour followed Orbit’s release, while Mother of Millions are currently working on a new album.

Founded in 2018 by the singer and band leader Izabela Izzy Rekowska who spent some time in London working-up her songwriting skills prior to forming the four-piece. In autumn 2019, the rock’n’roll infused single Picasso’s Octopuss revealed a bold, psych fuzz ridden sound which is present throughout the debut album “Trust No One” – released by the legendary Polish indie label Antena Krzyku in April 2020. Founded in 2020 by singer Anais Schmidt (Grenada), singer and guitar wizard Fabio Pinto and bassist Fabio Besomi. This unique encounter between Swiss precision and Caribbean freschezza is echoed in the music of Monte Mai from Lugano. LIGHT BY THE SEA PLAYS THE CRANBERRIES

The Cranberries brought a unique voice to rock music and left a lasting artistic legacy. From the Irish band’s early commercial success in 1995 until singer Dolores O’Riordan’s tragic death in 2018, The Cranberries were musical revolutionaries, who defined the typical 90’s sound that everybody is familiar with.

Light by The Sea is willing to take the listeners back in time with the power of sound, focusing especially on The Cranberries’ legendary Live In Paris (Beneath The Skin, 1999) set while adding their special favorites to the rich setlist. Hungarian singer Eszter Anna Baumann was trained in several folk music competitions in her childhood, and she even then discovered the similarities between some Hungarian and Irish folk singing techniques. Dolores O’Riordan’s beguiling voice gave The Cranberries an edge that made them one of the most iconic bands of all time, combining influences of both Irish folk and rock music. It is a big honor for Anna and for Light By The Sea to aim to evoke this unique singer’s music, whose legacy will linger on forever.

In een sterrenstelsel hier ver, ver vandaan hebben de muzikanten van The Artificial Dance Party hun passie voor Star Wars en liefde voor dansbare indie/electro rock bij elkaar gebracht in het project ‘Revenge of the Synth’. De band brengt een krachtige combinatie van catchy synth melodieën, jankende gitaar solo’s en pulserende ritmes die het best te vergelijken is met acts als Justice, Daft Punk en Pendulum, waarmee ze de essentie van de saga raken en het verder brengen met een verfrissende, moderne twist. De muziek is gebaseerd op de ongeëvenaarde composities van John Williams evenals de nieuwere soundtracks. Indra Salima (29) heeft als zangeres en violiste naam gemaakt bij onder andere The Cosmic Carnival, de theatervoorstelling ‘Fleetwood Mac, The Incredible Story’ en Madhara. Daarnaast is ze groot bewonderaar van de Canadese singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell, met welk repertoire ze sinds 2021 stad en land afreist onder de noemer Wildwood Flower – A Joni Mitchell Story.

 Ze werkt samen met gitarist Menno Roymans (oa. Komodo, ¡Pendejo!) om in een intieme setting een selectie van Joni’s beste nummers ten gehore te brengen. Inmiddels hebben tientallen succesvolle concerten door het hele land bewezen dat Indra Salima het heilige repertoire van Joni Mitchell eer aandoet.

Als een sloopkogel door de kerk van boze muziek en bozere meisjes; FEMME FUGAZI combineert spoken-word, manische onvoorspelbaarheid en teksten over de zinderende liefde voor Gerard Joling tot een bezeten geheel. FEMME FUGAZI is onlosmakelijk verbonden met bands uit de opkomende garage/post-punkgolf van de laatste jaren. Denk hierbij aan een mix tussen METZ en IDLES. De band speelt pas sinds 2022 samen, maar heeft in een kort tijdsbestek al vele mensen kunnen imponeren; zo werd de band geselecteerd voor Popronde en Booster Festival (hét showcasefestival van Overijssel en Gelderland), staan ze op Sniester en Valkhof Festival en verzorgen ze het voorprogramma voor (inter)nationale acts als MODEL/ACTRIZ en Claw Boys Claw. Op 27 maart is hun debuutsingle ‘Suffocate In Silence’ uitgekomen.

SEEWOLF

Overtuigde eenvoud, angstaanjagende rust, onderbroken door een razende wind. Dat is het geluid van Seewolf. In de muziek hoor je dat de mannen een passie hebben voor minimalisme, maar de tijd durven te nemen om hun verhaal te vertellen. Enkele jaren geleden laat Seewolf een tapemachine vanuit Californië naar de Oude Bildtdijk verschepen. In de jaren 70 wordt er in de Wally Heider Recording Studio in San Francisco veel opgenomen over deze tapemachines. Muziek van o.a. Neil Young, Van Morrison, Tom Waits en The Grateful Dead lopen door de sporen van het apparaat en nu zo’n 50 jaar later loopt de muziek van Seewolf door deze zelfde sporen. De mannen hebben in 2019 hun debuut EP ‘Moonwater’ uitgebracht en in december 2022 de ‘High Hopes EP’. Nu zijn ze bezig met het opnemen van hun full-length album. De heren kijken ernaar uit om hun nieuwe werk aan de wereld te laten horen.

The Still Traveling Wilburys are a Dutch Group which will be touring the Netherlands in May ’24 performing the full ‘Vol 1’ Record and a selection of ‘Vol 3’, as well as several hits by the individual Wilburys – expect a couple of Jeff Lynne-produced solo singles! (“The Traveling Wilburys were a British-American supergroup consisting of Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, Roy Orbison and Tom Petty. Originating from an idea discussed by Harrison and Lynne during the sessions for Harrison’s 1987 album Cloud Nine, the band formed in April 1988 after the five members united to record a bonus track for Harrison’s next European single. Tengger creates their brand of psychedelic New-Age drone magic through the use of Voice, Indian harmonium, and Toy instruments (played by ITTA) and synths & electronics (played by MARQIDO). The duo originally started out with the moniker “10” but since the birth of their son RAAI (who joins them on tour and playing Voice, Synth, Toy Instrument, Dance performance on stage) in 2012, have called themselves TENGGER (meaning ‘unlimited expanse of sky’ in Mongolian) to mark the expansion of the family. It also means ‘huge sea’ in Hungarian. Travel, as spiritual experience in real environments, and the sound between the space and the audience have been central themes of their works. The family’s yearly pilgrimages inform every aspect of their art.  

The new album represents an opportunity for the globetrotting family trio to explore their origins. TENGGER means ultimate expanded sky in Mongolian. The album finds TENGGER accepting the mood of the world, using the motion of wind and waves as sonic inspiration. TENGGER’s interest in cosmology reflects in their outlook and lyrical approach. In their words “the sound starts from the breaking dawn and circulates around until the night sky and the milky way.” Opening single “PANAPTU” offers a reverent respect to “the earth and the sky”, the band wrote. “The sun, the rain, and the things that grow on the ground make up our bodies and souls. Both can be compared to a mirror. Humanity (on the earth) looks up at the sky; the sky looks at us Illuminate each other and influence each other. Change is happening every moment.”

MAGIC SHOPPE

Magic Shoppe of Boston, Massachusetts, are known for delighting in distortion and reverb. They take notes from My Bloody Valentine, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Spacemen 3, Loop and have a European psych shoegaze sound which flirts with industrial and new wave. The warm and fuzzy tonality can washout into soundscapes or crash into a maelstrom. They balance retro and futuristic music with thumping bass and jangling rhythms with dark vocal melodies.The band consist of Josiah Webb (vocals, lead guitar), Stevie Moonboots (bass), Dave Mulvaney (drums), Richie Gibson (rhythm guitar) and Mat Durie (rhythm guitar). Magic Shoppe have offered up their own fuzzy, wall of sound influenced blend of shoegaze across five EPs, four full-length studio albums and one live album over the past nine years. With three well-received European tours since 2017 and a fifth EP studio album (Patty Hearse) being released in September 2022.

The ASTEROID N°4

The Asteroid No.4 are an American psychedelic band based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Originating from Philadelphia in the latter half of the 1990s, the band began their relocation to the west coast in 2011. Since forming, the band has endured several lineup changes. Over the last ten years, however, they have consistently included Scott Vitt (vocals, guitar), Eric Harms (guitar) and Matty Rhodes (bass, vocals).  Drumming duties are now performed by Mark Tarlton (formerly of Echodrone) and Camilla Saufley provides keys, guitars and vocals (formerly of Assemble Head In Sunburst Sound, Goldenvoid). The band is known for their dynamic live act, integrating multi-textured guitars and reverb-drenched vocal harmonies over an unwavering rhythm section. However, it’s been their prolific recording output, including their eleventh album “Tones of the Sparrow”, that’s helped build their dedicated fan base within the underground psychedelic scene. With well over a dozen compilation appearances, digital-only rarity releases, and multiple singles and EPs, the band is said to improve with each release.  The Asteroid No.4’s sound has been called a “hypnotic hybrid of several different genres filtered through the kaleidoscope of all things psychedelic.” Whether it be “Krautrock”, “shoegaze”, folkrock, or even the occasional dabbling in “Cosmic” countryrock, the band have never shied away from wearing their influences squarely on their sleeves.

THE GLUTS

The Milan based post-punk band, without doubt one of the loudest and most extreme of the Italian scene, is going to release their first live album for the London-based label Fuzz Club Records, an international cornerstone of the noise-punk/psychedelic music scene. The live has been recorded on a boat at the Lightship 95 studio in London during the last European tour of the band. It will be supported by 4 videos that will anticipate the official release expected to be next fall. The band had also recorded a new full length produced and mixed by Bob de Wit, live sound engineering of A Place to Bury Strangers, Gnod and White Hills and studio producer of 10’000 Russos, Radar Man from the Moon and much more. This new album will follow the live in studio release and will be the third LP that comes after ESTASI an album published by Fuzz Club Records that pulls punches without excitation, straight to the face. Multi-faceted, powerful, rough, intense, intrinsically defining the essence of the quartet: the urgency of excess. Bristling with the same tension of the previous album WARSAW, published in 2014 for the German label Nasoni Records, but with a new more defined shape.  In the album will be present also present a Massive Attack cover mixed by Dave from White Hills. DIY approach and punk attitude spiced by fuzzes, reverbs and love. The band is based in the beautiful and foggy Milan and nothing has changed so far from first 7” ‘tears of ink’ totally self produced in 2012.  On stage is where the band better express itself and this new vinyl will prove it. The band is now putting together a new European tour in November to support the live album, having the chance to see the first reactions of the people to the new life the unpublished songs will get.

TIM AKKERMAN

Alweer 20 jaar geleden stond Tim Akkerman aan de vooravond van zijn muzikale carrière. Een carrière, gekenmerkt door hoogte -en dieptepunten, hits, authentieke keuzes, duetten, bijzondere uitstappen, een veelvoud aan liedjes en nog een groter aantal live shows! Inmiddels is Tim als muzikant en componist niet meer weg te denken in de Nederlandse muziekscene.

Sinds het album ‘The Journey’ (2014) werkt Tim samen met zijn vaste band The Ivy League en toeren zij als een hechte groep door verschillende landen. Bij het derde album ‘Lions Don’t Cry’ (2019) werd de band op de voorgrond gezet en veranderde de bandnaam officieel in Tim Akkerman & The Ivy League.
Dat de band een grote en betrokken fanbase heeft, bleek uit de opgezette crowdfunding om het aanstaande album ‘Silver Linings’ te kunnen realiseren. Binnen twee weken was de productie van het album verzekerd en hun achterban ging daarna ongeremd door met doneren!

Het afgelopen jaar bracht de band de tijd en ruimte om te focussen op het schrijven van nieuw materiaal. Het is een album voor alle tijden en gaat over het vinden van geluk in de kleinste dingen. Vriendschappen, vreugde en de schoonheid van het leven. Ten opzichte van het laatste album ‘Lion Don’t Cry’, waarmee Akkerman terug naar zijn roots ging, is de sound een stuk frisser en bij de tijd, echter onveranderd met dezelfde energie en positieve vibe! Het album is wederom een mooie samenwerking tussen Tim en zijn band The Ivy League en wordt eind september dit jaar verwacht.

LIVE SKULL

Emerging in the early 80s at the end of New York’s legendary No Wave scene, Live Skull reshaped the aggression of burned-out post-punk into heavy, guitar-driven rock. Mark C and his fellow founder, guitarist Tom Paine, were inspired by the nihilistic sounds of No New York and the dissonant walls of Glenn Branca and Rhys Chatham. Like their Manhattan comrades Sonic Youth and Swans, Live Skull funneled those influences into hard-edged music that valued melody as much as anarchy. “We loved the noise and the chaos that was happening in the No Wave bands,” says Mark. “But we really tried to fit it into a song.” Over the next decade, Live Skull released five albums and three EPs with a rotating cast of 11 members, all of whom added new ideas to the group’s evolving sound. Themes of struggle and chaos egged them on. Their constant progression inspired New York Times critic Robert Palmer to call them “as challenging, as spiritually corrosive, and ultimately as transcendent as Albert Ayler’s mid-’60s free-jazz or the implacable drone-dance of the early Velvet Underground. It’s one of the essential sounds of our time.”  In 2019 an updated line-up with C, Rich Hutchins and bassist Kent Heine recorded the first Live Skull album in nearly three decades, the urgent, forceful Saturday Night Massacre. The following year, joined by guitarist Dave Hollinghurst, they returned with Dangerous Visions.  The band’s new tunes tear into the air with the same ferocity of their early material. Four decades since they began, the world still needs music from this band that never stops evolving and pushing itself–because there’s still no one who sounds like Live Skull.

GIRLS IN SYNTHESIS

Formed in late 2016, London-based post-punk trio Girls In Synthesis’ DIY attitude and caustic music has singled them out as one of the most intense and unique outfits in the UK. Taking their cues from legendary 1970’s UK acts such as Wire, Crass and Public Image Limited, their relentless rhythmical elements owe as much to disco and dub reggae. The band have built up a fevered fan base across the UK, with a reputation as an extraordinary live band; breaking down the musician/audience barrier by dragging equipment off the stage and playing large chunks of the shows from within the crowd. They soon became an in-demand support act for bands as disparate as Slaves, Bad Breeding, Wolf Alice, Damo Suzuki, Warmduscher and Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs. 

After their self released single ‘The Mound/Disappear’ in 2016, they released three rare and sought after vinyl E.P’s on the experimental London label Blank Editions throughout 2017-2018. A compilation of these releases, ‘Pre/Post: A Collection 2016-2018’, arrived at the start of 2019 on Louder Than War, becoming the labels fastest selling release. Singles ‘Arterial Movements’ and ‘Pressure’ followed at the end of 2019 with ‘The Images Agree’ and ‘They’re Not Listening’ arriving as lead singles from the critically acclaimed debut album ‘Now Here’s An Echo From Your Future’, released in August 2020. The 5 track mini album, ‘Shift In State’, was released in June 2021 as part of Record Store Day and bought fractured electronics and experimental, spatial sonics into the mix. The stand-alone single ‘Pulling Teeth’ appeared on the 5th November ‘21; a nine minute opus taking in post-punk, electronic and disco influences. The follow up to their debut album is scheduled for release at the end of 2022.

Originally from the Swedish town of Kristinehamn, the current iteration of Oh Hiroshima consists of brothers Jakob Hemström (guitar/vocals) and Oskar Nilsson (drums).The band has always had a direct approach to the post-rock genre of their origins, but with their latest album Myriad (released on Napalm Records),this is even further enhanced. Merging the constant atmospheric element of their music with an array of new influences, Myriad sees the band taking a significant leap forward in both sound crafting and songwriting.

After supporting a giant in their genre God Is An Astronaut on their European tour, the band chose IDVI Agency as their exclusive Benelux agency, and they are currently working on their new full-length album to be released somewhere in the first half of 2024 on Napalm Records.

Eastern Europe’s most exciting newcomer act TÖRZS is the biggest instrumental post-rock band in Hungary. Their last album was recorded at a UNESCO World Heritage cave system 500 meters below ground. COLLEEN GREEN

Colleen Green is a DIY singer-songwriter and visual artist from Lowell, MA.
Following the release of her classic debut album “Milo Goes to Compton” in 2010, Green started to make a name for herself in the lo-fi bedroom pop scene of Los Angeles. She soon became known in punk circles across the country for performing alone on stage with nothing more than a drum machine, a pair of sunglasses, and her iconic electric guitar. In September of that same year Green signed with Seattle-based Hardly Art Records, a subsidiary of the legendary Sub Pop label, and went on to release 2015’s “I Want to Grow Up” which brought her international renown and critical acclaim from the likes of Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, and the New York Times. Following the success of this album, the readers of LA Weekly voted her Best Solo Act of 2015.
Green’s pride and joy is the full-album cover of Blink 182’s Dude Ranch that she released in 2019. The recording has since become beloved by fans of both acts and even led to a guest appearance on Mark Hoppus’s Apple Music radio show.
She has performed in 20 countries including Brazil, Chile, Japan, Italy, Spain, Poland, Czechia and Norway.

The past 10+ years have seen Green continue to grow, learn, and improve, and she hopes to keep following that trajectory indefinitely by staying cool, being nice, and believing in love.

GIFT

“Share the present and bolster the light…”

GIFT is a psychedelic rock band from Brooklyn, NY, whose sonic vibrations nod to echo-heavy
‘90s psychedelic icons like Brian Jonestown Massacre and Spiritualized. Formed right before
the global pandemic in 2020. The band consists of TJ Freda, Jessica Gurewitz, Kallan Campbell, Justin Hrabvosky, and Cooper Naess. Inspired by Ram Dass’ legendary book Be Here Now, the name GIFT is a play on words invoking the word “present,” as in “the present,” as in “it’s a gift to live and breathe in the present.” While the Brooklyn-based band’s sound can be described as “psychedelic rock,” the genre moniker fails to fully illustrate the breadth of GIFT’s resonance, which touches as much on the hypnotic rhythms of avant pop band Stereolab as it does the spaced-out rock’n’roll of Spacemen 3.

GIFT’s debut album ‘Momentary Presence’ comes out October 14, 2022 on Dedstrange.

Mavourneen

The alternative rock duo, Mavourneen, consists of  Hans Gustav Björklund Moulvad on guitar and vocals and Benedicte Pierleoni-Nielsen on drums. The duo has just finished their debut album Submassive, produced and mixed by Nis Bysted (Iceage, Liss, First Hate, Baby In Vain, Escho). The record is an avant
-gardist and rock inspired dive into the submissive state in all its facets and forms. The word Submassive was invented to describe finding freedom in the lack of choice. Like diving under the surface only to discover you are floating high above a vast abyss, the record was written around this paradoxical feeling of finding freedom in restriction. With only two people on stage, Mavourneen unfolds their live show with a grandiose and experimental wall of sound and unique intensity mixed with an intimate poetic lyrical universe. On their album they have expanded their instrumentation and productions significantly, introducing elements such as synths, strings, choir, church organ and percussion, all blended with walls of noise
and distortion.

Mint Field was originally formed in Tijuana by frontwoman Estrella del Sol Sánchez and ex-member Amor Amezcua in 2015. Spirit Award is the moniker for Seattle-based singer/songwriter Daniel Lyon. The band’s vision has always been to make something with intention, love, vulnerability, raw emotion, and authenticity that captures the human spirit. The sound has morphed into a feeling and sound that is motorik, psychedelic, fuzzy, ethereal, driving, and aggressive but still maintains some pop sensibilities, citing the work of Arthur Russell, Neu!, and Suicide among their inspiration.

Based between Brussels and Berlin, Golden Hours is comprised of past and present members of Gang Of Four, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Tricky, The Fuzztones and The Third Sound, to name just a few. A band with mileage and stories, they trade in rock’n’roll missives that are at times dark, tense and hypnotic, at others sweaty, relentless and danceable. Made up of Hákon Adalsteinsson (Guitar/Vocals), Rodrigo Fuentealba Palavacino (Guitar), Tobias Humble (Drums/Vocals) and Wim Janssens (Bass/Keys/Vocals), Golden Hours’ self-titled debut album is due for release March 31st 2023 on Fuzz Club Records. Wim says of the project and its incoming debut: “The musical backgrounds of each member are pretty broad but somehow when we come together there’s a pretty clear definition of what our music should sound like. There’s a beautiful friction between the noise we produce and the love for melody that seems to overtake at just the right moment. There never seems to be a lack of ideas when we come together. In silent agreement, every idea gets tried and will be further developed into a song or skipped in a heartbeat. No time is wasted. It all happens pretty automatically.” On the shadowy and macabre lead single, ‘Come And Find Me’, Wim writes: “A relentless bass brings back the ghost of The Birthday Party, drums keep a violent pace and urgently push forward. Formed in 2010 in Atlanta, Georgia, the trio has established themselves as one of the most successful and motivated bands in the genre today. Elements of Helmet, Melvins, and the Amphetamine Reptile roster can be heard throughout their catalog, but Whores are no regurgitated throwback act. Through intense, cathartic live performances and the perfected aggressive tenacity present on their recordings, the band has gained a fervent following sure to do nothing but grow in the years to come. October 28, 2016 saw the band’s first full-length album and their debut on eOne records, “GOLD.“ The album was widely praised, garnering spots in the top ten on album of the year lists through publications such as Rolling Stone, MetalSucks, Heavy Planet, Invisible Oranges, Shiny Grey Monotone, and more. The band is currently recording the follow-up to “GOLD.“ Prior to their signing with eOne, Whores’ output included two now-classic EPs. “RUINER.” released December 20, 2011, put the band on the noise rock map and is now on its fourth pressing. They followed this up with the even-more popular “CLEAN.” released October 29, 2013 and now on its sixth pressing. Between these and “GOLD.” the band released a split of covers by The Cure with Rabbits and contributed the song “Bloody Like the Day You Were Born” to Amphetamine Reptile’s “Dope-Guns-‘N-Fucking in The Streets, Volume 13”. Whores also just contributed the track “Flag Day” to Amphetamine Reptile’s “Bash ’17” alongside acts such as The Melvins, Mudhoney, Lydia Lunch, and Cherubs.

THE WARLOCKS

Formed in 1999, L.A.-based group The Warlocks produce a relentless, hypnotic wall of sound that suggests a collision between classic psychedelia, Krautrock and The Velvet Underground. Front man Bobby Hecksher grew up in the swamps of Tampa Bay, FL but moved to L.A. at age 16 where he soon found kindred spirits, jamming with Beck on his Stereopathetic Soulmanure album and moonlighting in the Brian Jonestown Massacre.

The band’s debut album Rise & Fall (Bomp 2000) set out their template, but it was the band´s signing to a worldwide deal with Mute and the release of Phoenix (2003) that raised their profile significantly. Several albums followed including 2005’s Surgery, 2007’s Heavy Deavy Skull Lover, 2009’s The Mirror Explodes, and 2020s The Chain. Relentless international touring and the sheer power of The Warlocks gigantic live sound has built a worldwide cult following for the band that has only grown and intensified.

Longtime L.A.-psych rockers The Warlocks — led for the past twenty-plus years by Papa Warlock front man Bobby Hecksher, who´s backed by J.C. Rees (guitar, feedback), Earl V. Miller (guitar, drone machine), Christopher DiPino (bass), and Oscar Ruvalcaba (drums) — are back on the road again this fall for a full-scale tour in support of In Between Sad (Cleopatra Records – Sept 22, 2023). In Between Sad was co-produced by Hecksher and Rob Campanella at Rob´s  Figment Studios in Lake Hollywood, CA.

Hackedepicciotto

Hackedepicciotto are Alexander Hacke and Danielle de Picciotto. Both are legends of their own making: Danielle de Picciotto moved to Berlin in 1987, to become the lead singer of the band „Space Cowboys“, the co-initiator of the Love Parade, a collaborator of the Ocean Club with Gudrun Gut, and Alexander’s partner in crime. Alexander Hacke is founding member and bass player of Einstürzende Neubauten. The artist couple, romantically married in 2006, has creatively interacted with countless international projects for almost 2 decades now besides regularly releasing their own compositions. 

Their live shows are, to put it mildly, intense. Danielle specializes in unusual instruments such as the Hurdy Gurdy, the auto harp and the cemence besides playing the violin and piano; Alexander is master of the bass, guitar and drums. Together they create beautiful, existentialistic, acoustic soundscapes, which roar and vibrate simultaneously leaving their audiences shaken but overjoyed.

SAFER

SAFER is a rock ‘n’ roll dance band from Brooklyn, NY. Comprised of vocalist bassist Mattie Safer (The Rapture/Poolside), drummer Abdon Valdez, guitarists Darren O’Brien & Liz Hogg, and percussionists Rosie Slater,  the band’s sound is a delectable blend of post-punk freneticism mixed with a powerful, soulful vocal delivery and a well-honed pop sensibility. The band has forged a reputation across NYC for their highly danceable, chaotic live show. 

SAFER frontman Mattie Safer cut his teeth in the New York City indie scene as a bassist, keyboardist, and vocalist with genre-bending dance-rock pioneers The Rapture. Their debut album Echoes (Pitchfork’s album of the year in 2003) set the world alight and introduced dance music to uptight indie kids across the world, selling and streaming millions of records and touring extensively across the world. Currently singing and playing bass with daytime disco progenitors Poolside, Safer has collaborated with industry heavyweights such as James Murphy, Paul Epworth, Timbaland, Danger Mouse, and more.

SAFER recorded its debut album in 2022 with producer Carlos Truly (Ava Luna, Gustaf, Juan Wauters).

The Psychotic Monks

Surfing from the Brazilian psychedelic scene, GLUE TRIP is a music project from the state of Paraíba in the northeast of Brazil, but currently living in São Paulo. The group emerged in 2013 as an experimental bedroom recording project and is led by the composer and musician Lucas Moura that takes care of all music production. Their first album came out in 2015 and featured songs like Elbow Pain and La Edad Del Futuro. The video of the song Elbow Pain has more than 16 millions views on YouTube with many covers and shares all over the world. With an average of 140k monthly listeners on Spotify they released a second album “Sea at Night” in 2018 focused on synth pop and psychedelic music. They have recently released their new album: ”Nada Tropical” which features great Brazilian artists like Arthur Verocai, Otto, YMA and Felipe S. Glue Trip brings the Brazilian roots to its discography with the new album. The group toured Europe in September of 2022 promoting the new album in 6 different countries and getting in touch with an audience that always loved their music, but never had the chance to watch them live.

EL FATSO

El Fatso hits you like a wrecking ball and takes you on a crazy ride full of guitar bravado. Hold on tight: you’ll be rocked, you’ll be rolled, you’ll feel fierce and you’ll feel bold. El Fatso has won the audience award at the Eendracht Festival 7.0 and their first single “Rodion” was the most listened to song on Reddit. In 2018 they played in a packed Rotown and toured the Spanish Costa Blanca. The releaseshow from their debut EP (February 2019) was completely sold out and they played in the final of the Nobel Award 2019. In 2020 they played support shows for Ten Times a Million in Rotown and Gebr. de Nobel. Early 2021 they released their 2nd EP “Rock ‘n’ Roffa” and were finalists for De Grote Prijs van Rotterdam. During the covid pandemic the band wrote their newest record “Bravado”: dark and gloomy times ask for dark and gloomy music. Late 2022 “Bravado” was introduced to the world during a successful releaseshow in DB’s.

BOX OF KINGS

Box of Kings will release their first full-length album at the end of 2022. The recently released singles ‘Avalon’, ‘Smoke on the Horizon’ and ‘Molly, My Dear’ have already been heard on Dutch national radio channels such as Arrow Classic Rock and Kink and the attention is also growing rapidly outside the country’s borders.Box of Kings was founded at the end of 2018 by Jeroen Doppen and Chris Hordijk. In 2019 they released their debut EP ‘Symphony of Superficiality’ and it received no less than 3 nominations at the 3voor12 Gelderland Awards in the categories Best Newcomer, Best Live Act and Best Album.The band released the EP ‘Live’ in 2020, on which you can clearly hear what Box of Kings stands for:raw seventies rock with catchy melodies.“We have recently put a lot of fun and energy into making this album and were able to put our thoughts and our emotions into it. EL SHIROTA

After its foundation in 2012, the band debuted in 2013 with Chiluca No Es Satélite EP. Prior to the release of their first full-length material Tiempos Raros (Devil In The Woods, 2020), the band self released two EPs and later the singles Tarde/Temprano and Carreta Furacão, which was voted number 1 favorite song in Reactor 105.7, Mexico’s most prominent alternative rock station, in 2019 and also appeared on the Amazon Prime series Chivas as part of the official soundtrack in 2020. The single La Ciudad from the debut album Tiempos Raros appears in the official soundtrack for 2021’s highly successful video game Forza Horizon 5. In 2022 the Mexican quartet released Niebla EP on 7” vinyl via Devil In The Woods. The EP highlights the participation of Alonso Salamanca (former bassist of the band) in Tibio ft. Alo, the B-side of the album and the band’s first exploration between electronic music and its already characteristic Noise Rock/Post-Hardcore sound. Their most recent release is ‘Influyente’, the first single off their next upcoming full length album in Q2 2023. The outfit has toured across Mexico and the United States in many occasions, the most recent was their Fall US Tour 2022, around the west coast and midwest, through cities such as San Diego, Los Angeles (in support of Melvins), Chicago, Seattle (Freakout Fest), Portland, Salt Lake City, Boise (in support of Cloakroom), Reno, Olympia, Kansas City and more. In 2023 El Shirota will be promoting their upcoming second album with tours across Mexico, US and Europe. Currently, they’re part of the lineup for The World Is A Vampire Fest in Foro Sol, Mexico City, playing alongside bands like The Smashing Pumpkins, Turnstile, Deafheaven and Chelsea Wolfe.

BREANNA BARBARA

A southern occultist juxtaposed in the middle of the city, Breanna Barbara writes songs that make your soul dance, songs that make you question how many lives you’ve led, and if you ever lived at all.

Through her rambling of the earth, she traced a map constellated with pins, strings, and patterns. Here’s one that traces St. Augustine to New Orleans, to New York City, knotting the places where she once lived. Another loops around the kingdoms of Scandinavia then, lower, ties the mountains of Switzerland, through the beaches of Italy, to the monuments of Paris where she sung her songs to foreign followers.

Over here, Nashville is tacked: a keepsake for her first album, ‘Mirage Dreams’, which she recorded with Andrija Tokic, that went on to praises from V Magazine (“her smoky quartz voice is one in a million”), Bandcamp (“fans of Chelsea Wolfe and King Dude will find plenty here to love”), and Action Bronson who invited her to perform on his VICE talk show.

The densest fragment of the tapestry, with strands cross-crossing throughout, covers North America, where she toured with trip-hop legend Tricky before recording songs for his latest record and his label’s first compilation.

Pearz

Hailing from Florence, an Italian hotbed of poetry and arts, Pearz is the musical moniker of multi-instrumentalist Francesco Perini. Having cut his teeth as a former member of The Hacienda and as session musician for the likes of Tess Parks and M!R!M, the London-based artist’s solo endeavours stem from “years of erratic and sleepless music nights”.

Following 2020’s Nocturnal EP, new single ‘Social Amnesia’ is a disillusioned dance track that draws from a melting-pot of influences. Nodding to Italian soundtracks, elements of nu jazz and nostalgic hip-hop beats, the largely instrumental composition glistens with enthusiasm and a love for making music. Layering synthesized strings atop of a groovy bass line, reminiscent of Liquid Liquid’s famously sampled banger ‘Cavern’, the infectious rhythm section wouldn’t sound out of place on Primal Scream’s seminal Screamadelica. Continually elevating across its 4-minute duration, gritty guitars add a satisfying sense of dirt to the well-produced piece before giving way to a disorientating piano outro.

Nice Biscuit

Nice Biscuit is a five-piece folk psych outfit formed in Brisbane in 2016. During the years they embarked on packed-out headline tours in both USA and Europe, and they also played support slots for BJM, The Growlers, Allah Las, The Murlocs. In 2019 they played showcase festival Great Escape and Liverpool Sound City and a support slot for Altin Gun in London.

They were listed one of as NME’s ‘10 new bands to watch at the Great Escape’ and a ‘Band not to miss at Sound City Liverpool’ by Get Into This, while Goodbye Luya was a Track of the Week on both Louder Sound and London In Stereo, and was added the NME’s New Bangers playlist. Nice Biscuit emerged from Covid to release the Create Simulate EP in January 2021, featuring the singles Fem Chem, Candle and Limbs. Their second EP , Passing Over came out only 8 months after the first, featuring singles Passing Over, The Tower and Round and Round.

BABY COOL

Marrying psychedelia with folk and a touch of country, Baby Cool is the latest side project by Nice Biscuit co-front woman Grace Cuell. “The songs are deeply sentimental. Earlier this year, Baby Cool hit the road with the Babe Rainbow, performing on the renowned stages of the Princess Theatre (Brisbane) and the Metro Theatre (Sydney). With Cool’s live band composed of members from Nice Biscuit, The Flamingo Jones and Cigarny Weaver, it is no surprise these shows were met with rave reviews. Baby Cool is set to release music later this year via Virgin Music Australia, Greenway Records (US) and Bad Vibes (UK).

Th’ Losin Streaks

Th’ Losin Streaks story began in 2003, and things happened quickly: their debut record, “Sounds of Violence,” was released in 2004, followed by tours of Europe and the US, and invitations to open for legendary acts like The Zombies. The band and the record collected kudos and built a wide-ranging fanbase that includes The Dead Kennedys’ Jello Biafra and E Street Band guitarist Steven Van Zandt, who proclaimed the group’s “Your Love, Now” as “The Coolest Song in the World (this week)” in his Billboard column and sent the tune into heavy rotation on Sirius’ Underground Garage radio station.

In 2011, the group went on hiatus, returning to the stage in 2017 following an invitation to open for Iggy Pop at the Burger Boogaloo festival.

Costanza Delle Rose is know for being on the scene with Be Forest, band in which she writes lyrics, sings and plays bass, and with which she toured extensively from the US and Mexico, to all of Europe and Russia. After moving to London during a year of immense changes in her life, Costanza found fertile ground to bring to life her new project, KOKO, a deeply reflective expression of her most sincere self, with no artifacts or filters to protect her. KOKO is Costanza’s soul out in the open, brave enough to experiment with sound and new lyrical approaches, and free to be fragile and vulnerable to her feelings. After posting an unannounced video for the song “I Want to Be” in the spring of 2021, KOKO is now debuting with a 7 track album by the metaphorically on-point title “Shedding Skin”, to be released on October 17, 2021.

ANGEL NATION

ANGEL NATION, the melodic metal band founded by the classically trained Finnish singer Elina Siirala (also in Leaves’ Eyes) released their new album “Antares” on CD and exclusive vinyl on April 8th via Inner Wound Recordings.

Their debut album (released under the name EnkeliNation) “Tears of Lust” was received with glowing reviews all over the world and their second release “Aeon” took a step forward in the musical diversity. Since the start, Angel Nation have played shows around Europe and performed at festivals like Bloodstock Open Air, Lankafest and Brainstorm Festival.

The greatly anticipated third album takes Angel Nation to a new level! Named after the star “Antares”, the brightest object in the constellation of Scorpius, it takes the listener on a journey of multiple elements, through an album full of energy and fire with the true sound of a metal band! “Antares” combines catchy melodies, stadium rock and powerful metal tunes together with a flavor of modern synths, while maintaining the depth, both musically and lyrically.

ZUSTER ZONNEBLOEM

Zuster Zonnebloem is loud, intimate, raw but most of all sincere. They bring the music and ethos we know from the 70’s into modern times. Unmistakable passion and chemistry are channeled through their psychedelic blues rock, that entices you to experience a revived nostalgia for Pink Floyd and Deep Purple. One moment they sound vulnerable and crystal clear, the next raw and out of control, with a binding factor of honesty and authenticity. The renowned Dutch music magazine OOR called them ‘Flag-bearers of the Dutch psychedelic rockscene’.

In November 2023 they released their debut album Show Don’t Tell, a record dedicated to activism and realization of our influence on the planet and each other. They submerge themselves in themes such as freedom, spirituality and the consciousness of the universe, with a direct yet hopeful message. With live shows in Paradiso, Patronaat, Gebr. De Nobel, Oerol and Werfpop among others the band have proven to be a live power to be reckoned with.

In June 2024 they released Live in ’23, evidence of their refined live skills. It’s an EP of 4 of the best songs in their back catalog, all recorded in the best studios in The Netherlands. In the fall of 2024, Zuster Zonnebloem joined the Popronde on tour and played on the prestigious Popronde Eindfeest in a sold out Melkweg in Amsterdam

LUCY KRUGER & THE LOST BOYS

To encounter Lucy Kruger’s music is to witness a singular journey of constant reflection that is producing an ever-widening arc of creativity. April 2022 sees the release of Teen Tapes (for performing your own stunts) a culmination of the Tapes Trilogy. In June 2021, the Berlin-based South African artist released the third Lucy Kruger & The Lost Boys album, ‘Transit Tapes’ (for women who move furniture around), which serves as a follow up to her 2019 release, ‘Sleeping Tapes for Some Girls’.

Since first embarking on the very specific process of recording music – with an early album that she recorded soon after finishing her arts degree in the Eastern Cape town of Grahamstown – Kruger has approached her artistry with the care of an archaeologist seeking all the interwoven elements that make up the historical whole.

Whether the now finite suite of albums with André Leo as Medicine Boy (More Knives, 2014; Kinda Like Electricity, 2016; Lower, 2018; Take Me With You When You Disappear, 2020), or her solo work, Kruger has engaged in a slow, steady exploration of what it takes to make music that’s universal, that endures, that draws listeners in, even after countless listens.

“I think that what I am able to offer as an artist is a detailed expression of my experience, for although the situation may feel unique to me, the feelings are universal,” says Kruger. “Giving them a sound and shape validates and creates space for those feelings, allowing listeners to feel seen and less alone, even at a distance. Even in the isolation of a bedroom. Especially in the isolation of a bedroom.”

BLACK MARKET KARMA

Black Market Karma can be loosely described as psychedelic rock. Their sound is thick and colourful, the core of it rooted in 60’s guitar and pop music, with broader flavours of Psychedelia, Fuzzed out tones and drunken grooves. They’ve also incorporated touches of Folk, Blues, Traditional Indian Music, Hip Hop production and Lo Fi Electronica.

HEDVIG MOLLESTAD TRIO

Hedvig Mollestad Thomassen is a groundbreaking and influential Norwegian guitarist, working in a wide range of scenes and genres, being an artist with a take-no-prisoners-attitude no matter the task given.

Her work with Hedvig Mollestad Trio, including 7 albums in 10 years, has led to broad international attention and interest. In 2020 she released her first solo record Ekhidna, and received a Norwegian Grammy. Her 2nd solo release, Tempest Revisited, achieved the same award, and her 2021 release with her trio was nominated in the Rock category.

David Fricke from Rolling Stone says: I was immediately struck by the quality and ferocity of her guitar playing and improvisation, and the rhythmic bond of the group. Richard Williams has written liner notes for the live album from 2016 and says: There is always something wild and worthwhile happening in her solos, demonstrating a phenomenal deftness and gift for detail.

The releases of the trio have been reviewed several times in media such as New York Times, Wall Street Journal, MOJO, Uncut, Classic Rock, The Wire, Downbeat, Jazzwise, Jazztimes, Guitar World and Decibel Magazine. Following the release of Ekhidna, she was included in Downbeat’s “25 for the future”, where the article shine a spotlight on ascending artists that potentially will shape the direction of jazz in the years to come.

Het is inmiddels 25 jaar geleden dat de legendarische Londense Post-Punk formatie The Sound werd ontbonden. Begin jaren tachtig nog beschouwd als de beste Post-Punk band van het moment werden ze op commercieel gebied links en rechts ingehaald door bands als U2, The Cure en labelgenoot Echo & The Bunnyman. De band, die zich principieel en compromisloos opstelde raakte langzaam in de vergetelheid en zanger Adrian Borland, die leed aan zware depressies en een schizofrene stoornis pleegde in 1999 uiteindelijk zelfmoord. De muziek van The Sound past naadloos in de huidige roerige tijd en verdient het om opnieuw een groot publiek te bereiken (in Nederland verkocht The Sound grif de zalen uit). Zeker wanneer je bedenkt dat The Edge van U2 zwaar beïnvloed was door het gitaarspel van Adrian Borland en er geen band is die onversneden melancholie en (post)punk-energie zo raak samenbracht als The Sound. Een ware must voor liefhebbers van de New Wave uit begin jaren tachtig!

THE SOUND UNDERCOVER
Voor velen is The Sound nog altijd dé nummer 1 (naast Joy Division) van de jaren tachtig. Dit geldt zeker ook voor zanger Erny Green (oa zanger in Joy Division Undercover) die een grote wens in vervulling ziet gaan met de aankomende tribute tour. Samen met de andere leden van Joy Division Undercover (gitarist Henk Koorn wordt vervangen door Rempe Kooij) zal hij een uitgebreide set spelen met nummers van de eerste drie albums (Jeopardy, From The Lions Mouth en All Fall Down). Denk bijvoorbeeld aan de Post Punk anthems ‘Missiles’ en ‘Winning’, waarbij de eerste het lijflied werd van een hele generatie die zich destijds verzette tegen de opkomst van kernwapens. The Spyrals

Armed with a guitar, harmonica and fuzz pedal, band-leader Jeff Lewis formed The Spyrals when he was living in San Francisco in the early 2010s. Now, though, he’s based in Los Angeles and finds himself backed by a new line-up of musicians. ‘Same Old Line’ was cooked up in new drummer Dash’s garage and recorded over the course of a few days and nights straight to a Tascam tape machine. Jeff recalls: “This is the first album recorded with a new lineup after I moved from San Francisco to Los Angeles. At the time of recording we werenʼt sure if this would be a Spyrals album or something under a different name. At some point during the mixing process I decided to keep moving on under the Spyrals name, so to me this album is a real turning point in the band’s history.” The result is a record that’s just as rooted in the sounds of Nashville and the Mississippi Delta as it is the band’s West Coast garage-rock forebears.

Black Doldrums

Kevin Gibbard and Sophie Landers produce a dark psych, contemporary form of gothic post-punk under the name Black Doldrums. Their songs contain hook and lead tribal drums and euphoric guitar textures that frame lyrics about purpose and introspection. The duo have been building up a devout following since their self-released ep on a limited number of cassettes ‘Exit City Lights’ before their first official signing to independent shoegaze label Club AC30 in 2018, releasing two sold out vinyl ep’s in 2018 and 2019, ‘Sad Paradise’ and She ‘Divine’. In 2020, Black Doldrums collaborated with electronic duo ‘TVL’s Jared Artaud, producing their debut album with grammy award winner Ted Young. In early 2021 Black Doldrums recruited Matthew Holt on bass guitar. In March the same year, Black Doldrums signed to psych/post-punk giant Fuzz Club Records who released the band’s debut album ‘Dead Awake’ on 11th March 2022.

New Candys

Concocted with only the darkest of deviant rock’n’roll ethos and distinct melodic distortions, New Candys are one of the most important bands to have emerged from Italy in recent years. Their hometown of Venice is subtly interwoven through a focused aesthetic, not only sonically produced, but curated in their album artworks.

With many years on the road internationally, New Candys have done several tours around Europe, North America and Australia. Some festival appearances include Liverpool Psych Fest, Levitation France, Fuzz Club Eindhoven, Desert Stars Festival, Sydney and Melbourne Psych Fests. They have supported artists such as The Brian Jonestown Massacre, The Dandy Warhols and The Vaccines. Some of their songs are featured on episodes of Showtime Networks original TV series “Shameless”.

Their new album ‘Vyvyd’ was released on June 4th, 2021. It’s the first record arranged, performed and produced by the new line-up, mixed by Grammy Award producer Tommaso Colliva.

Tagua Tagua

Based in Sao Paulo and formed in 2017, Tagua Tagua is headed by songwriter and producer Felipe Puperi. Felipe, having fronted Wannabe Jalva for several years, has a somewhat extensive indie-sh resume, having played at Lollapalooza, supported shows for Pearl Jam and Jack White; got featured at KCRW, NY Times, Stereogum, Brooklyn Vegan and WFUV. Felipe’s own project, Tagua Tagua, makes a name for himself as one of the most promising acts in Brazilian music nowadays. Besides being praised in Brazil, they’ve been starting to get some atenttion overseas. The artist has been featured on NPR and Remezcla, got a song on FIFA 20 and has supported shows for The Growlers. After two released EPs, “Tombamento Inevitável” (2017) and “Pedaço Vivo” (2018), Tagua Tagua released his first LP “Inteiro Metade” (2020). The album intertwines tropical psychedelia, the principles of ye ye ye and the influence of funk and soul figures. Dominated by supple melodies and dreamlike timbres, all songs have been written and recorded pretty much by Felipe himself, mixed by fellow Wannabe Jalva Tiago Abrahão and mastered by Brian Lucey (The Black Keys, Chet Faker). Recently, Tagua Tagua toured throught Europe and made a couple of shows at SXSW. The artist is also finishing his new album, that may be released late this year.

Church of the Cosmic Skull

Church of the Cosmic Skull are not only one of the most exciting rock bands in the world today, but also an ever-growing spiritual organization, spreading the light of the Cosmic Rainbow across this planet and beyond. The Church release their third studio album ‘Everybody’s Going To Die’ in November 2019 on limited edition heavyweight vinyl, CD edition cassette via their own label Septaphonic Records. The Nottingham based ‘spiritual organisation’ continue to astonish listeners and festival audiences across Europe with their unique blend of prog, psych, rock, and ‘Occult Pop’. Since their 2016 debut ‘Is Satan Real?’, electric viola, piano and Rhodes have been introduced alongside the Hammond organ and six-part vocal harmonies, resulting in a sound that truly ‘puts the ABBA in Sabbath’. The decision to remain independent is a reflection of both the changing landscape of the music industry, and the Church’s wholeheartedly DIY approach, having turned down major label offers in favour of starting Septaphonic Records and their own live events company, Cyclopean Productions. Quoting one of the ‘7 Objects’, Church founder Brother Bill Fisher describes this as a chance to ‘Celebrate and uphold the freedom of art, science and thought.’

AQUARAMA

Aquarama is a true kaleidoscope of sounds, merging sixties west coast inspired pop with worldwide influences such as afro-funk, soul, tropicália and spaghetti soundtracks. Born in 2017, the duo literally burnt the stages: the debut album Riva was played on a 90-gigs tour around Europe, led Aquarama to play beside french iconic bands like La Femme and Nouvelle Vague, canadian nu-jazz ambassadors BadBadNotGood and ended up in Hamburg at Reeperbahn Festival 2018. The second album Teleskop was released on January 24th 2020, here the pursuit for the perfect pop song, the grooves of black music, afro-rhythms and an overall 60s/70s rock atmosphere find a fresh balance. “Teleskop” has been played on a live tour around France during February 2020 before the concerts shut-down due to global pandemic. Its instrumental song Vietnam has since then been featured on Paris radio FIP’s Best of du mois.

The Vacant Lots

Brooklyn, NY post-punk duo The Vacant Lots released their third album ‘Interzone’ in the summer of 2020 on London indie label Fuzz Club. ERRORR

Errorr was started by Leonard Kaage, who took the opportunity to start creating on a blank canvas with his own instrumentation, production and arrangement in 2019.The first demos were developed in his studio, whenever he found time between recording jobs and tours in Europe, Asia and the US. After a few months the characteristic sound of Errorr found its shape: Loud guitars and fuzz bass supported by catchy drum beats. Leonard’s soft voice cuts through the mighty ‘Wall of Sound’ and transforms beautiful ‘noise’ into pop.

The Swedish multi-instrumentalist is also known as the producer and guitar player of The Underground youth and has worked with numerous other bands like The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Holy Motors, Kristof Hahn (SWANS), Tracy Bryant, Tess Parks, The Blue Angel Lounge and many more.

With Nick Mangione (Perilymph) and Andre Leo (Medicine Boy, Wombed) joining him on Bass and Guitar, the band has now developed into a 4-piece which incorporates a wide range of rock genres including noise-, post-punk and shoegaze elements and is inspired by a lot of great rock bands of the early 90s. Avant-Garde bands like Sonic Youth, Pixies and Nirvana are seen as pioneers in their raw and honest interpretation of rock’n’roll and punk rock.

KASPAR BAUM

KASPAR BAUM is the Utrecht based Alternative rock / Post Punk band around singer- songwriter Erny Green (who has already released ten original albums over the past decades and in recent years also stood out as vocalist in world’s best Joy Division tribute band “Joy Division Undercover”). The band’s debut album Vuurland was released on December 10, 2021. On the record many influences can be heard in a range from Eighties bands such as Joy Division, The Smith and The Cure, through Nineties bands as Wilco and Radiohead to more contemporary bands in the likes of Editors, Arcade Fire and War On Drugs. Even Bob Dylan is not lacking as a reference. Nevertheless, KASPAR BAUM does certainly have a unique sound of its own. Responsible for this sound, next to a strongly felt urgency is the homogeneous production of the album, which was entirely in the hands of Erny Green himself. Perhaps even more important are the tasteful contributions of the three other band members who provide the characteristic voice of Erny Green with whatever it needs in each particular song. We could say that ‘Vuurland’ is an album that has some timeless ‘classics’ abord. No one can ignore KASPAR BAUM as soon as the debut album Vuurland has seen the light. So far we know already.

Having only formed in 2014 (at that time under the name AURA), the band signed a record deal with Universal Music Romania the same year. ¡PENDEJO! is a heavy rock band from the Netherlands, founded by two cousins with a history in Latin America. Digging into their latino roots they started blending heavy riffage, right-in-your-face lyrics in urban Spanish and to top it all off, a screaming trumpet.

Kingfisher Sky

Together with singer Judith Rijnveld, Ivar de Graaf (ex-Within Temptation) explored a way to combine both their influences into songs that didn’t bound themselves to a specified genre or style. With influences like Porcupine Tree and Kate Bush, but also classical singers as Cecilia Bartoli and traditional Folk music in their mind they started recording songs in their home studio in 2005.

In May of 2007 Kingfisher Sky recorded their first album “Hallway of Dreams” produced by Jochem Jacobs (Textures) and Bouke Visser (Split Second Sound). This debut-album was released in October of 2007 by Suburban Records. Hallway of Dreams was received with great reviews and a successful head-line tour throughout the Netherlands followed. Little over a year later this rock solid debut album was released in The United States, Italy, the U.K., France, Japan and Germany.

On September the 18th 2010, Kingfisher Sky released their second album titled “Skin of the Earth”. Much like their first album “Hallway of Dreams”, “Skin of the Earth”” was received with raving reviews. After a successful crowdfunding campaign their third album Arms of Morpheus saw the light of day in October 2014.

Kristoffer Gildenlöw

David Kristoffer Gildenlöw was born on July 27’th 1978 in Eskilstuna, Sweden. Growing up on the countryside, Kristoffer bounded with nature in a very special way. This can be heard throughout his songwriting where he regularly brings up the connection to nature. At the age of 9 he started playing the piano and keyboards. At the age of 13 Kristoffer grew a bigger interest in rock and hard rock and started playing bass guitar and drums in local school bands. When he was 14 years old, he decided to focus on bass guitar as his main instrument and started taking lessons at the local music school. In 1994 to 1998 Kristoffer attended the Esthetic Music Gymnasium (Highschool) of Eskilstuna. In November 1994 Kristoffer was asked to fill in on bass for one show on his brothers band Pain of Salvation and in 1995 he was asked to join the band.

2012/2013: Kristoffer’s career as an independent artist took flight with the release of his debut album RUST (2012), which featured a wide range of music and guest musicians.

Margaritas Podridas

Margaritas Podridas (Rotten Daisies) is an alternative rock band formed in Hermosillo, Sonora, which consists of Carolina Enríquez (bass/vocals), Esli Meuly (guitar), Alfonso López (guitar/drums), and Rafael Armenta (guitar/drums). Their debut album “Porcelain Mannequin” was released in June of 2018. They just released their second album “Margaritas Podridas” in April of 2021. Currently, they are in the process of releasing two singles, which will later be followed by an album later this year.

In 2021, the band has played in various music festivals in Mexico and the United States such as Ruido Fest (Chicago,IL), Freakout Festival (Seattle, WA), as well as a live session for KEXP. They are planning on touring throughout this year, and will be participating in big festivals such as Freakout Weekender, Golden Voice’s This Ain’t No Picnic (Pasadena, CA), and opening for IDLES in CDMX.

RHONDA

Rhonda are back with a record that doesn’t give easy answers but asks questions. The new album “You Could Be Home Now” is an intimate, raw snapshot in which the unspoken and spun of the film music of Morricone or John Barry appears, while at the same time remaining stuck in the filth of punk and rock ‘n’ roll.

The band’s sound is carried by soul and human warmth, the songs are personal and close. They know of dusty streets, of strange shadows and familiar lights, they know sweetness and darkness at the same time. “You Could Be Home Now” is an honest record that says nothing that isn’t true, that doesn’t want to be what it isn’t, that doesn’t follow a plan, but was able to grow slowly and is what it is.

RESERVOIR DOGS

Eind 2011 vonden een aantal muzikanten elkaar in hun voorliefde voor Tarantino en diens muziekkeuze in de welbekende films. Begin 2012 was de band compleet en na een intensieve repetitieperiode werden enkele try-outs gedaan en volgde in oktober 2012 de premiere.

In 2021 bestaat Reservoir Dogs Band dus 10 jaar en dit willen ze vieren met alle fans. Met een vernieuwde show, met daarin ook een terugblik op 10 jaar RDB, zal de band van oktober 2021 t/m oktober 2022 gaan touren in Nederland, België en Duitsland. Deze tour zal ook gecombineerd worden met een aantal theatershows.

Afgelopen jaren deed de band ruim 150 shows in binnen- en buitenland en speelde o.a. in Paradiso, 013, Paard and many many more, de band speelde ook op de premiere van Django Unchained en werkte samen met Entertainment One en Sony Pictures om de films van Tarantino te promoten.Bijkomend was de band ook te zien en te horen bij zowel 3FM en De Wereld Draait Door. Eind 2017 verscheen de eerste CD “Death Trap”.

EAU ROUGE

EAU ROUGE are what is a rare breed to find in 2021: a band.Not a project. Not an act. Not a collaboration. That is what makes their live-shows a visceral sensation and their ever-evolving sound as irresistible as it is unpretentious. Like with any real band, it’s hard to label their sound, as it is more than the simple equation of adding up the ingredients. But think a modern-day The Police that has taken some inspiration from the likes of Tame Impala, Arctic Monkeys and M83.

Over just a few years, EAU ROUGE have been picked up by several major brands, including Red Bull, Germany’s Next Top Model as well as several Netflix and TV shows. After playing support-tours for The Tamper Trap and Kakkmaddafakka, as well as Festival-Slots at SWSX and Lollapalooza Berlin, they independently booked their own successful headline-tour in 2019.

For 6 months, they’ve been working on their new opus “Avid Love”. And while their musical journeys have already taken them to places like Sweden and UK, Austin and L.A., then signing with French Label Riptide Records, they insisted on recording the new songs live in their rehearsal space at home. They had a vision for Magnus’ drum sound, and Jonas’ and Bo’s voices resonate together now, creating a perfect synergy. Only after that foundation was laid down, they went to the vibrant surroundings of Riverside Studios in Berlin to give their new work some polish and additional production.

During the last 6 months, the first singles have been released reaching more than 800 000 streams and 2 500 airplays in more than 12 countries.

BLACK BOTTLE RIOT

Black Bottle Riot is a true guitar band, the kind that’s becoming rare these days. Formed in 2008, Black Bottle Riot was quickly noted by fans and critics as a fresh wind in the Dutch and European rock scene.

With 2011’s debut album and ‘Soul in Exile’ (2013) and III: Indigo Blues (2015) on Suburban Records, the band played tons of national and international club and festival shows. From large stages such as Rockin’ Park, Zwarte Cross, Eurosonic/Noorderslag and Down The Rabbit Hole to juke joints, honky tonks and sweaty blues clubs. It’s an old fashioned band, in a good sense. Give these guys a stage, some amps and a crate of beer and they will set the place on fire.

Over the years the band shared the bill with Pearl Jam, The Black Keys, The War On Drugs, Black Stone Cherry, Rival Sons and Ryan Adams. Their ‘one minute of fame’ on national television show DWDD led to a support slot for ZZ Top. In reviews, rock magazines foresaw a band with no strict musical boundaries, whilst still staying true to itself. Magazine ‘Gitarist’ stated in 2014 that Black Bottle Riot ‘may be Europe’s best Southern Rock band’ – a claim that doesn’t quite fit this band’s dislike of superlatives and hypes, but it does say something about BBR’s aspiration to always aim for quality. Their fourth studio album ‘FIRE’ (2019) sounds like the band has come to its own. Songs are catchy yet intense, with lots of dynamics, twin guitar soli and harmony vocals. The perfect soundtrack for driving hours on end, either to get away from or to finally get to your loved ones.

As building a time machine is yet to seem impossible, with the power of sound, Davy Knobel and Eszter Anna Baumann were aiming to do it in their own way. During quarantine, they surrounded themselves with their favorite vinyls and concert tapes in their tiny apartment, which resulted in writing their own tracks, inspired by their great musical heroes. Light By The Sea’s full-length album entitled Only Death Makes Icons (2021) was released shortly afterwards.

As in The Netherlands, only for a few weeks it was possible to play club shows, Light By The Sea luckily had a chance of touring in October 2021, playing two full-house record release shows, and supported Vive la Fête on big clubstages.

As the goal is set regarding a more specific musical style, Light By The Sea are currently working on their new songs which will surely make the people move and get them into a trance, where even time travelling might be possible.

THE THIRD SOUND

Dealing in a hypnotic blend of neo-psychedelia, post-punk and new wave, The Third Sound is a Berlin-based band led by the Icelandic musician Hákon Aðalsteinsson, who is the guitarist in Brian Jonestown Massacre and formerly played in the cult rock’n’roll outfit Singapore Sling. A mainstay of the European psych underground in his own right, not just through his collaborations with the likes of Anton Newcombe and Tess Parks, The Third Sound has been Hakon’s primary solo endeavour since the release of his self-titled debut on Newcombe’s A Recordings a decade ago.

Arriving following 2018’s ‘All Tomorrow’s Shadows’ LP, ‘First Light’ marks an evolution into a brighter and at times uplifting sound. Marrying moments of light and dark, the result is The Third Sound’s most dynamic full-length to date. Talking about the album, Hakon said: “This album is definitely less gloomy than the previous one, although some ghosts from the past are lurking in the background.

We always try to make something new on each album and never make the same album over again, but this feels like an even bigger change than usual, especially regarding the mood. Something new is beginning although the past is not forgotten. I think the title, First Light, describes the overall feel of the record pretty well.” Opening track ‘Tidal Wave’ introduces the record perfectly with a shimmering piece of shoegaze-inflected psychedelia that sounds like a long-lost Creation Records classic just before the Es hit the scene: “It has a mix of programed and real drums which resulted in a more upbeat and groove-focussed approach and talks about something awakening. It sets the tone for the album I think.” ‘Your Love Is Evol’ appears to follow a similar path but soon breaks down into something more cacophonous: whilst the infectious bassline rumbles away beneath Doorsian organs, things soon dissolve into distorted wall-of-noise guitars.

The Music – power, groove and emotion
The band’s DNA can be traced back to the ancestral ‘Golden Age of Rock’ (60s, 70s), but instead of copying past heroes, Dirty Sound Magnet worked hard on breaking new ground. The band’s approach has often been compared to Led Zeppelin for their groove, energy and instrumental virtuosity, to a more violent version of Pink Floyd and to the mysticism of The Doors. With the addition of modern psych influences (Tame Impala, King Gizzard and the Lizzard Wizard, …) and sarcastic lyrics grounded in today’s social turmoil, the DSM magic formula is complete.
 
Live, the band is known for its kinetic performances and strong stage presence. DSM’s dynamic range goes from all out power to moments of silence build into the music. Akua naru teams up with Brooklyn-based duo The Ruff Pack (Matthias Loescher, Stephan Kondert) on “the Black magnificent”. A titanic collaboration which places atthe fore akua naru’s classic political and poetic lyricism framed by The Ruff Pack’ssignature sonic bravado. A 7-track head nod call-to-action which dances along thespectrum from live hip hop to soul to trap to jazz to the not yet discovered.

MOTHER'S CAKE

The forthcoming fifth album by the international phenomenon that is Mother’s Cake sees the psych-rock trio present itself in suitably appropriate fashion: sky high, far out yet still very much down to earth.

In preparation for over a year and recorded during a series of sleep-deprived three day sessions, the group concentrate on the essentials on the ten new songs that comprise ‘Cyberfunk!’, bundling their raw live energy into a dynamically dense release that sounds like vintage madness of the best possible kind and fits the moment in perfect fashion.

Despite what its title might suggest, ‘Cyberfunk!’ was created in a more or less classic manner, with the three musicians performing together in one room, just the way it should be, with a minimum of overdubs resulting in a genuine band sound that is almost distilled to its essence, with the voice of singer/guitarist Yves Krismer standing out even more than on the band’s previous recordings.

A deeply rooted 70’s spirit and the urge to give Rock ‘n Roll’s it’s raucous danger again. Tricklebolt delivers a rumbling, grinding musical and sonic gut feeling that evokes the rowdy vibe of early Deep Purple, Wolfmother and Motörhead. 

Conceive authentic raw guitar sounds, floating Hammond layers and psychedelics, along with the hooks – and looks of a Black Crowes. Float away on an Easy Rider road trip while Tricklebolt spits out a solid amount of decibels and whacks it all straight into your gut.

 Their resume includes (i.a.) supports for Golden Earring, DeWolff, Uriah Heep, Extreme and Navarone. After two full lengths, Tricklebolt put the troubled summer of 2020 to good use and recorded the Worlds first Drive-In Live album. Their new power move will see the light of day in 2021.

Heavy brass, brutal riffage, pounding drums, cojones, and Spanish urban lyrics that make you wonder “did they just say that?”. Yes they did. They go by the name of ¡PENDEJO!

¡PENDEJO! is a heavy rock band from the Netherlands, founded by two cousins with a history in Latin America. Their music has been described as heavy, addictive, rough and grooving, or as a Spanish critic so eloquently put it: “Heavy rock in Spanish with balls the size of Danny de Vito”.

On December 7th 2007 ¡PENDEJO! played its first show in Caracas, Venezuela. Since that memorable show, the band did numerous tours in Europe and Latin America and shared stages with influential heavyweights like FU MANCHU, KARMA TO BURN, MONDO GENERATOR and HELMET and did support for MONSTER MAGNET on their European tour in 2018.

¡PENDEJO! recorded its fourth full length album ‘VOLCÁN’ with producer Pieter Kloos (Motorpsycho, Ween, Barkmarket, Peter Pan Speedrock) last fall, continuing that wild journey into the area where brass and heavy guitars meet. ‘VOLCÁN’ will be released in March 2023.
