We are one week away from the release of Kristoffer Gildenlöw’s long-awaited new album Let Me Be A Ghost, but we can already enjoy a new track and lyric video today from this masterpiece. Fleeting Thought is one of the latest songs written for the album and the last to be completed in the studio. “The amazing guitar player, and Kayak band mate, Marcel Singor was asked to record the guitar solo on this song. I couldn’t quite reproduce and capture the feel of the one-take, improvised demo-solo I had done for the pre-production. Marcel understood exactly what I was going for and recorded this beautiful solo for me” – explains Kristoffer about the track. The song is based around this fragile guitar-riff and builds up from there into this floating 6/8 waltz with the solo and stacked vocals as the peak dynamics before crashing down to zero again. “Fleeting Thought is about being “stuck” in bed and not being able to get out and live your life as usual. Whether due to a mental or physical illness. The video was meant to be a plain lyric video, but I decided to add some cute animations to emphasize the story and to give you something more to look at while listening to the song” – he concludes.
